Discussion forum

The discussion forum is a facility for members to air their thoughts, express opinions, ask questions, and generally communicate with other club members.

It is hosted by Google Groups under the group name EpsomOddballs, and is exclusively for the use of members of the Epsom Oddballs Running Club, although it is open to anyone to view members' posts. Under normal circumstances, members of Epsom Oddballs Running Club are automatically registered as members of the group. If you (as a member of Epsom Oddballs Running Club) find that you do not have access, please send an email to the Epsom Oddballs webmaster.

When you logon to the EpsomOddballs group, we recommend that you complete profile details, including a photo of yourself. This is not compulsory, but it is interesting for other member to read.

Clicking on the above link will take you to the google Groups web site. If you are already registered with Google Groups under the same email address as you use for the Epsom Oddballs, then you just need to sign in and a link to the Epsom Oddballs group will appear.

How to use Google Groups

If you do not have a Google Groups account, the following explanation may be helpful.

Google Groups is a facility to connect together like-minded people to others with a similar interest. The EpsomOddballs group is one of many within Google Groups, and members of Epsom Oddballs Running Club are automatically set up as members of this group.

If you have not used Google Groups before, you will first need to register with Google Groups before you are able to post comments:

1) Click on the link above.
2) Click on the 'Sign in' link in the top right-hand corner.
3) On the next page, click on 'Create an account'.

Once you have registered with Google Groups, you will see a link to the EpsomOddballs group. You will be able to post items from either the Home page or the Discussions page.

New topic, technically known as a thread. Click on the '+ new post' link to take you to the posting page.
Add to existing thread. Click on the existing topic to see all previous posts under that thread, then click on the item you want to reply to.

Please note that you cannot reply directly to an email you receive from Google Groups, it doesn't work that way. Instead you will have to follow the description above for 'Add to existing thread.'
